MADE by DWC’s Splash into Summer Recap

An evening of shopping, art, and food also serves to showcase the beauty of the Downtown Women's Center community.

On Thursday, July 30th, MADE by DWC held its 3rd annual summer soiree event. Throughout the evening, guests were able to shop and mingle while snacking on juice and wraps from Pressed Juicery and Simply Salad

Products from Emily McDowell Studio, a preview of an upcoming line of handMADE jewelry products, and artwork by underwater photographer Mallory Morrison were all available for sale in addition to the Resale Boutique’s fare of handMADE products and vintage clothing, with proceeds benefiting the Center.
As a way of appreciating our loyal shoppers, we gave out select handMADE products as gifts to those who made purchases that night.
So many of our Downtown Women’s Center community showed up to shop and support the event. We spotted a program participant showing off the handMADE earrings she had worked on, while volunteer groups like the L.A. Craft Collective took a photo with the #IamDWC sign. We saw loyal shoppers spreading the love about MADE by DWC on social media, and wonderful artists like Mallory chatting with other supporters about why she chose to donate proceeds from her artwork to DWC.
Beyond a great night of shopping, there was no doubting the fact that homelessness really does end here, when we show up and commit to making change together.
