BRING PURPOSE HOME

MADE by DWC

The Downtown Women’s Center (DWC), founded in 1978, remains the first and only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving women experiencing homelessness.

Throughout the years, the DWC has grown to include many programs and support services including a drop-in day center, health & wellness, education, employment, permanent supportive housing, and advocacy to end homelessness for women.

INNOVATIVE APPROACH

JOB SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

In 2011, MADE by DWC was launched offering women the opportunity to earn income while gaining job skills and experience. Women are employed within the social enterprise and attend skill-development workshops while receiving additional employment support services. Through this innovative approach, we continue to help women develop skills and gain the experience needed to find employment to support their transition out of homelessness.

EMPOWERING ENVIRONMENT

SOCIAL ENTREPRISES

MADE by DWC has three businesses - our Café & Gift Boutique, Resale Boutique, and Home & Gift Collection. All three provide supportive and empowering working environments where women gain work experience in retail, food management, customer service, production, and inventory industries.

Every purchase you make at MADE by DWC empowers women transitioning out of homelessness.
